The project brings together a collection of images that demonstrate a protest in the form of public art under the name of a fictional person.
Taken as a whole, the presented body of work investigates hate speech toward refugees by locals on the Maltese Islands. The work is centred around the notion of giving a voice to marginalised refugee communities and the project’s protagonist does this by first-handedly opposing the hate speech directed toward asylum-seekers in Maltese news article Facebook comment sections.
HOME formed part of the collective exhibition titled Protesta, curated by Francesco Zanot and Luca Andreoni, held at CONDOMINIO Arte in Milan from 7th July until 17th July 2022.
